How to enroll in VSP
Your wellness is our top priority. As a member, you’ll receive access to care from great eye doctors, quality eyewear, and the affordability you deserve, all at the lowest-out-of-pocket costs. Because life is better in focus.
There are a few different ways to enroll in VSP Vision Care:
Enroll through your employer. Ask your employer if they offer a VSP vision plan, or if they offer a plan when you retire. Enroll during your open enrollment and during any qualifying life events (marriage, baby, job change, etc).
Enroll in an individual or family plan, or gift a plan from vspdirect.com. This is perfect for individuals and retirees without access through their employer.
Enroll in VSP through an Exchange or Marketplace. If you are eligible, go directly to your enrollment web site and enroll in VSP.
What is open enrollment?
Open enrollment is a window of time during which employees select health care, vision, dental, and other benefits through their employer. For most people, open enrollment occurs annually in October or November.
During open enrollment, it’s always a good idea to review your plan options for each type of coverage to see what’s changed in your plan since last as premiums, deductibles, co-pays and network coverage can shift from year to year.
Employees are typically only allowed to enroll or modify benefits outside of open enrollment if they have a major life event, such as marriage, having a baby, job changes for the employee or spouse, or when they retire (learn more about retirement options here).
Vision care is typically one of the quickest and least expensive benefit options to review and select. Take care of your eyes and overall health, and save money, simply by checking the box!
